Mettle e-money accounts have changed
We’ve made some changes to the way that Mettle e-money accounts work. The below provides information on what's changed.
What you need to know
On 18 June 2025, Mettle closed all remaining e-money accounts provided by Edenred Payment Solutions (Prepay Technologies Ltd), an FCA-regulated electronic money institution (FRN 900010).
You have an e-money account if your Mettle sort code starts with a 2.
Mettle customer support will be able to help with requests for statements or invoices created on your old account.

Why are changes being made to my Mettle e-money account?
Mettle initially managed certain customer and regulatory processes for your e-money account on behalf of Edenred Payment Solutions, a trading name of Prepay Technologies Ltd, the legally regulated entity for this product. From 18th June 2025, Edenred Payment Solutions will take back direct responsibility for these processes.
What is an e-money account, and how do I know if I have one?
E-money accounts are a type of account that stores money electronically. This money can then be used to make payments for goods and services. E-money accounts are regulated and authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), but are less tightly regulated than traditional bank accounts. You have an e-money account if your Mettle sort code begins with a 2.
I still have funds in my closed e-money account. How do I access them?
